In Los Angeles, a city built around the car, that architecture has gone quiet; the rails are still here, but the crossing is not. Dear, Sincerely set out to bring it back for a night, and then to do the harder thing: keep it alive after everyone got in their cars and drove downtown. This is the story of how an avant-garde atelier, a nonprofit, a historic railyard, and an audio company that builds sound you can feel moved a train yard across a city — and what it took to make a warehouse feel like a platform with locomotives passing on both sides.
